History & Future

CLOOS has been shaping the welding technology market since 1919 by developing innovative welding processes and state-of-the-art welding technology.

1919 - 1924

Engineer Carl Cloos founds the company

for the manufacture of acetylene gas generators and oxy-fuel welding torches.

As early as 1924, CLOOS relocates to Haiger

- which remains the Group's most efficient research and production site to this day.

1956 - 1958

With the introduction of CO2 arc shielding gas welding technology and the integration of welding power sources in production cells - the foundation stone for automated robot welding - CLOOS establishes itself as a pioneer of modern welding technology.

1961 - 1968

CLOOS characterises the further development of welding with new controls and the

the development of the first pulsed arc system.

1978 - 1986

With the design and production of its own industrial robots

and the development of the first in-house robot controller, CLOOS

sets the course for the future direction of the company.

1996

CLOOS introduces the TANDEM welding process

and becomes the global market leader in this field.

2000 - 2010

The development of new hardware and software makes CLOOS

the leading supplier of robotic welding systems.

2019

The strategic partnership with Estun Automation enables CLOOS

further growth in order to provide close and personal support to customers worldwide.

2022

With the introduction of C-Gate and QNECT, CLOOS is paving the way

is paving the way to the digital future of welding technology.

2025

With the completion of a new production hall, CLOOS

is sending a strong signal for growth and innovative strength at its headquarters in Haiger.
