Securing the future of the Haiger site

CLOOS is strategically realigns production

Haiger, May 2026 – Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik GmbH is realigning its production and organisational structures as part of a strategic development programme. The aim is to strengthen the company’s competitiveness in the long term and secure the economic future of the Haiger site.

Specifically, CLOOS plans to manufacture standard components and products outside Germany in future. This move comes due to increasing cost and competitive disadvantages for highly standardised products over recent years. Implementation of the measures is set to begin before the end of this year.

As part of this reorganisation, staff reductions are planned at the Haiger site, affecting the manufacturing and development departments dealing with standardised products. The specific details are currently being discussed in talks between management and the works council. The aim is a socially responsible implementation, to be supported by a social plan spanning several years.

At the same time, CLOOS is strengthening the Haiger site through a clear specialisation in custom products, bespoke solutions and system assembly. Haiger thus remains a central component of the company’s global production and expertise structure.

“These decisions were not easy for us to make. However, they are necessary to secure the future viability of CLOOS as a whole and to preserve jobs within the company in the long term,” explains Alex Waser, CEO of the CLOOS Group.

Employees were informed of the planned steps by the management during an information session. Ongoing and transparent communication is also planned for the coming phases.
