Sustainability
At CLOOS, we attach great importance to sustainability and energy efficiency. Since 2014, we have been working continuously to optimise our energy efficiency measures and reduce our energy consumption.
We have already taken numerous measures to achieve this goal:
Conversion to LED technology
By switching to energy-efficient LED technology in large parts of our factory premises in Haiger, we have been able to significantly reduce our energy consumption: the electricity required for lighting has been more than halved. At the same time, our production areas benefit from significantly improved lighting quality, which makes the working environment more pleasant and productive overall.
Modernisation of the production

We regularly replace older production machines with modern, energy-efficient systems. These new machines consume less energy and increase our production capacity at the same time.
Environmentally friendly parts cleaning
Another important step was to switch our parts cleaning to biodegradable media. This allows us to protect the environment and reduce the use of chemical cleaning agents to zero. Cold cleaners are no longer used and we completely dispense with hazardous substances in the area of parts cleaning.
Expansion of electromobility
The expansion of electromobility is another important aspect of our sustainability strategy. By using environmentally friendly transport solutions, we are helping to reduce emissions.
Utilisation of photovoltaic systems
By installing photovoltaic systems, we already generate up to 25 per cent of our electricity ourselves and thus make an active contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions. With an additional system on our production hall, which will be completed in 2025, this proportion will increase to up to 50 per cent.
Efficient utilisation of compressors
More than ten years ago, we began replacing our compressors and switching to speed-controlled models with heat recovery. In the meantime, 90 per cent of the compressors have been replaced and the waste heat is fed directly into the production hall.
Installation of motion sensors
To further reduce energy consumption, we have installed motion sensors in our buildings. These ensure that the lighting is only activated when it is actually needed.
Refurbished buildings and efficient heating systems
We have renovated our buildings to make them more energy-efficient, switched to efficient heating systems and reduced energy consumption by 30 per cent thanks to switch-off functions and controlled pumps. In mechanical processing, we use climate-neutral refrigerants and utilise waste heat from production facilities to heat buildings.
Commitment to a sustainable future
Our commitment to a sustainable future is reflected in numerous measures and projects that focus on protecting the environment and increasing energy efficiency. At CLOOS, we are convinced that sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand. That is why we are constantly working to improve our processes and technologies in order to make a positive contribution to the environment.
We started working on sustainability at an early stage - even before legal requirements or the state of the art demanded it. Thanks to our targeted measures, for example, we were able to reduce our total energy consumption by 15% between 2018 and 2022, while at the same time increasing sales.
In May 2025, our environmental management system was certified in accordance with ISO 14001. This confirms our commitment to systematic and sustainable environmental management.
