CLOOS robots weld turntable ladders for rescue vehicles
Fire brigades all over the world use vehicles from Rosenbauer Karlsruhe GmbH & CO. KG. The international technology leader for aerial rescue vehicles relies entirely on Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik GmbH for automated welding. The turntable ladder elements have been welded with two identical QIROX robotic systems since mid-2019. The robot is mounted overhead on a track with vertical and horizontal lift. The turntable ladders are inserted between two workpiece positioners, each of which has a vertically arranged face plate. The workpiece fixed between the face plates is thus rotated around a horizontal axis of rotation into the optimum machining position. The robot systems are also equipped with online and offline sensors to compensate for any component tolerances. By switching to automated welding technology, the company can respond even more flexibly to customer requirements, save time both during welding and in secondary processes and achieve excellent welding results.
