Cladding offers high-strength surfaces

The Wessel company manufactures boiler plants in the sector of waste recycling, surrogate fuels and energy supply. In industrial systems heat exchanger pipes are used for heat recovery. The surfaces are exposed to extreme loads by thermal and the circulating medium. The service life of the pipes and thus the complete boiler mainly depend on the pipe surface hardness. Cladding with high-alloy welding wire is a process where a high-strength surface that withstands chemical influences is welded. The welding system consists of a rotary axis which centrically supports the up to 35 m long pipes and rotates them endlessly. Two carriages, equipped with the complete welding technology move along the rotating pipe and weld the top layer.
