Laser Online Sensor
The online laser sensor is a non-contact optical measuring system. The sensor scans the surface of the component with a laser line. This allows the position and geometry of the weld seam joint to be recognised and correction data to be calculated. The measurement and correction routines take place during welding and directly compensate for any tolerances that occur. The compact sensor is mounted on the welding torch holder, close to the gas nozzle.
The online laser sensor is a non-contact optical measuring system. The sensor scans the welding joint with a laser line in front of the welding torch. This allows the position and geometry of the weld seam joint to be recognised and correction data to be calculated. The measurement routines are carried out during welding and the robot makes the necessary corrections directly. In addition to adjusting the welding path, welding parameters such as oscillation amplitude and robot speed can also be adapted to the measured conditions. The compact sensor is mounted on the welding torch holder near the gas nozzle.
Advantages:
- Compensation of component tolerances before welding:
Ensuring weld seam quality - No faulty welds:
If component tolerances cannot be equalised, the robot interrupts the production process and avoids costly reworking. - Measuring cycle during welding:
Use of the sensor has no influence on the programme runtime - Non-contact, process-independent measuring method:
The values determined by the sensor system can be used for all welding processes.
